KTXL-TV 40 OCTOBER 31, 1969 Schedule

On HALLOWEEN NIGHT, 39 years ago on a FRIDAY NIGHT, KTXL-TV 40, which is barely over a year old, shows a UNIVERSAL FRANKENSTEIN TRIPLE FEATURE starting at 8:PM with the original FRANKENSTEIN (1931) with BORIS KARLOFF followed by its sequel BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935) at 9:30PM. At 11:PM, There is a variety show followed at MIDNIGHT with THE GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN (1942). For some reason, KTXL skipped over the obvious second sequel of THE SON OF FRANKENSTEIN (1939), which I think is superior to GHOST. To the best of my knowlege, There was NO HOST for this HALLOWEEN NIGHT SPECIAL plus BOB WILKINS was still at KCRA-3 doing his LATE NIGHT HORROR SHOW. Also, ironically, then CBS-AFFILIATE KXTV-10 showed a HAMMER FRANKENSTEIN movie this evening at 11:30PM called THE EVIL OF FRANKENSTEIN (1964).

In case readers out there were not aware, Bob is slated to be in attendance at two upcoming events in March, 2009. The program is called "Creature Features Forever: a tribute to Bob Wilkins." They're bringing out two old classic Creature Features: one at El Cerrito's Speakeasy Theater on March 22nd at 8PM (with Mr. Lobo, John Stanley, and Bob Shaw). The feature will be "Attck of the Mushroom People,"; the other tribute will be in Sacramento at the Crest Theater on March 25 at 7PM (includes Mr. Lobo, Harry Martin, and Captain Mitch). The feature is "The Horror of Party Beach."
Tickets will likely be available online through Ticket Web. This will be a great chance for fans to come out and support Bob, "keep America strong!" and keep the Creature Features flame burning!

Hi Josh, Actually this info is wrong as the CREATURE FEATURES FOREVER shows were held in MARCH of 2007, not for next year. First off, Bob no longer does personal appearances since he is suffering from ALZHEIMER DISEASE and is in a Care Facility in RENO, NEVADA. Also, you list HARRY MARTIN to be a guest at the Sacramento Show but HARRY MARTIN passed away earlier this year of Cancer on FEBRUARY 17. BTW, I attended that show in SACRAMENTO and it was GREAT! Finally had the chance to meet my idol in person. :)
