May 25, 1968 Schedule: "Samson Vs The Vampire Women" and "The Outer Limits" 11:30PM
Bob Wilkins presented a Mexican Horror Film by the name of SAMSON VS THE VAMPIRE WOMEN (1962). Don't be fooled by the name. This isn't a Sword And Sorcery/Peplum Film. This Samson is actually a rename of Mexican Wrestler, SANTO. In fact, the spanish title is SANTO VS LAS MUJERES VAMPIRO. This movie was spoofed on MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATRE 3000. It is also available on DVD by BEVERLY WILSHIRE with an atrocious looking picture. Bob also showed an episode of THE OUTER LIMITS.

May 18, 1968 Schedule: "World Of The Vampires" and "The Outer Limits" 11:30PM
On this evening, Bob Wilkins shows a classic K. GORDON MURRAY mexican import called WORLD OF THE VAMPIRES aka EL MUNDO DE LOS VAMPIROS (1961). The movie is about a piano made from skulls and bones that has the power to destroy ampires. It was released on DVD in a very inferior copy by BEVERLY WILSHIRE back in 2000. Definately in need of an upgrade. I saw the Spanish Language Version on GALAVISION several years ago. Bob also showed an episode of THE OUTER LIMITS.

I need to apologize to everyone concerning this blog. My computer bit the dust, and now I am borrowing my nephew's laptop to do this blog. It is only a temporary situation. I finally bought a affordable computer from (of all place), QVC home shopping. I hope to get my new computer within the next 2 weeks. For now, my blogs won't be on time and there will nt be any photos for now. Hopefully I will rectify this later. I hope to add photos to my previous blog at a later time. Thanks to all for my barebones blog posts.

RASPUTIN MUSIC AND MOVIES: ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY IN STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA!!!
Exactly one year ago on this day, Berkeley based RASPUTIN MUSIC AND MOVIES opened up a location in Stockton in the former TOWER RECORDS location at 6623 Pacific Avenue. While I miss TOWER RECORDS/VIDEO/BOOKS, RASPUTIN'S is a step up from TOWER. RASPUTIN has an EXCELLENT selection of DVD'S, VHS and LASERDISCS. It is the best thing to come to Stockton in a LLLOOONNNGGG TIME! Plus the fact, I don't have to travel to the Bay Area to these type of stores. RASPUTIN has an excellent selection of genre DVD's(Horror, Sci-Fi and Cult) for an affordable price! RASPUTIN replacing TOWER is like replacing your old beat up VW Bug with a Brand New Corvette!! Their website is www.rasputinmusic.com
April 27, 1968 Schedule: "The Cape Canaveral Monsters" and "The Outer Limits" 11:30PM

The aliens are trying to sabatoge the U.S. Space Program. Bob also shows an episode of THE OUTER LIMITS which is better than the main feature.

On this evening Bob showed the Jack Hill Classic TRACK OF THE VAMPIRE (1966) about a crazed artist who believes he is a vampire who kills young women then boils their bodies in a vat of water. This movie was also known as BLOOD BATH (not to be confused with the Joel Reed Horror Anthology from 1976) at the movie theatres and was double billed with QUEEN OF BLOOD. This is the TV title. Unfortunately, this movie is only available on a Budget PD DVD from MADACY in a horrid version.

Well it has been one full year to the day that I attended the CREATURE FEATURES FOREVER TRIBUTE TO BOB WILKINS at The Crest Theatre in Sacramento, where I finally had a chance to meet Bob Wilkins and his family. Bob Wilkins showed a very interesting thriller from England called THE MANIAC, not to be confused with Bill Lustig's excellent slasher film from 1980. It is a 1963 shocker starring Kerwin (7TH Voyage Of Sinbad, The Boy Who Cried Werewolf, Nightmare In Blood) Matthews. The maniac uses a blowtorch on his victims. After this movie, Bob shows an episode of THE OUTER LIMITS.

My Final FAMOUS MONSTERS!
FM147.jpg)
This is the cover of the final Famous Monsters Of Filmland when I was 16 years old in 1978, FM # 147. By this time, There was too much Science Fiction being covered. A year later, I discovered FANGORIA and that became my monster mag of choice for the next 20 years. Today my favorite monster magazine is SCARY MONSTER magazine. It covers the old monster movies I remember as a kid. Plus SCARY MONSTERS remind me alot of the original FAMOUS MONSTERS. Even more than the new FAMOUS MONSTERS by RAY FERRY. LONG LIVE THE ORIGINAL FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND!!!!

Happy 50TH Anniversary KTVU Channel 2

"THERE'S ONLY ONE TWO!" That was KTVU's jingle for many years. Since KTVU is no longer on my cable lineup, I am not sure if they still use that jingle. I will alway's remember KTVU as the home for CREATURE FEATURES, The Late Night Tradition initially hosted by BOB WILKINS in 1971 but was succeeded by JOHN STANLEY in 1979. KTVU was also home to another tradition, DIALING FOR DOLLARS MOVIE. Actually KTVU's actual Birthday was on March 3RD. Happy 50TH KTVU!!!

March 2, 1968 Schedule: "Attack Of The Robots" 11:30PM PLUS "Outer Limits"!
ol.jpg)
March 2, 1968 marks a special occasion for Bob Wilkins on KCRA Channel 3. In addition to a movie, Bob also shows an episode of THE OUTER LIMITS. Though the TV Guide only lists it as OUTER LIMITS with no information about the episode, my guess is that it was being shown in chronological order, so I am assuming that the episode being shown on this evening is THE GALAXY BEING. Also later in the TV Guides are ads confirming that The Outer Limits shows are part of Bob Wilkins Shows and not separate from his show. The Outer Limits is available on DVD. As for the movie before it, Bob shows ATTACK OF THE ROBOTS (1966) aka CARTES SUR TABLE, a Spanish-French Sci-Fi production by Cult Director, JESS FRANCO about a mad scientist using an army of robots to control people with Type O Blood.
